Emmett David Klessig Emmett David Klessig of
Eagle River died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008, at St. Joseph’s
Hospital in Marshfield, Wisconsin He was 16.
He was born Dec. 1, 1991, in Eagle River, the son of David and
Tracy Klessig.
A sophomore at Northland Pines High School, he was a member of
the cross-country and track and field sports teams.
His hobbies included bear, deer and duck hunting. He was a
member of the Lac Superiore Exploration Co., the first member to
be inducted at an age younger than 18.
He was an active participant in the Living History exhibition
during Klondike Days and at other re-enactment events. Among his
many other activities, he was an avid paintball player.
Survivors include his parents of Eagle River; a brother, August,
of Eagle River; maternal grandparents, Ray and Mary West of the
Eagle River area, and John and Mary Bousman of Waukesha;
paternal grandparents, Larry and Sue Klessig of Eagle River; and
paternal great-grandparents, Bud and Julie Holmes of Hot
Springs, Ark.
He is further survived by other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Jan. 9, from 3 to 8 p.m. at
Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home in Eagle River and again Thursday,
Jan. 10, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Assembly of God Church in Eagle
River. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held
Thursday, Jan. 10, at 11 a.m. at the church. The Rev. Bradford
Davison will officiate.
Burial will be in Eagle River Cemetery in Eagle River.
A memorial will be established in his name.
