Five Strand Braiding By Mary Bousman
Starting With 3 separate strands from the front hairline

Cross the strands UNDER from the outside (right & left)

Cross UNDER one more round (right and left)

Keeping the Left strand out - pick up from the hairline on the RIGHT side

Cross the Right side pick up OVER the 3 strands on the right just as a 3 strand braid.

Keep the Two RIGHT strands out (to the right) - hold w/ clip or another person
Pick up the FIFTH strand from the LEFT side hairline and braid going OVER the 3 strands

Continue the braid by adding hair from the hairline alternating sides w/3 strands at a time, keeping the 2 outside strands out of the way, try to keep the braid somewhat looser w/tension

When past the hairline, pick up the same amount each time  from the longer hair that is still left loose, till ALL hair is added in.
